Ask any long-term player what actually keeps them in the game and almost none of them will name a magic betting pattern. They’ll say bankroll management. It’s the least exciting and most important part of playing Dice, Crash, Limbo or anything else on Stake and Rainbet — and it’s the one thing that’s fully in your control.
Rule 1: only play with money you’ve written off
Your bankroll is money you have already decided you can afford to lose completely. Not rent, not savings, not “I’ll just top up.” If losing the whole balance would hurt your real life, the amount is too big. This single rule prevents the worst outcomes.
Rule 2: fixed-percentage bet sizing
Bet a small, fixed fraction of your current balance — commonly 1–2% per bet. Why it works:
- Random games produce long losing streaks more often than people expect. Small bets survive them.
- Betting a big fixed dollar amount means one normal cold run busts you; betting a small percentage means it’s just a dip.
- As your balance grows or shrinks, your bet scales with it automatically.
Rule 3: stop-loss and take-profit
Decide before you start:
- Stop-loss — the most you’ll lose this session (e.g. 20% of the bankroll), then you quit. No exceptions.
- Take-profit — the gain at which you bank the win and walk (e.g. +20–30%).
The hardest part isn’t setting these numbers — it’s obeying them. Writing them into a sheet you follow on autopilot makes that much easier.
Rule 4: never chase
Chasing losses by doubling up to “get it back” is how the majority of bankrolls die. A pure martingale always meets a streak your balance can’t cover. Controlled recovery — small, capped step-ups — is the only version that survives contact with reality.
Rule 5: track your sessions
Write down what you started with, what you ended with, and whether you followed your own rules. Patterns appear fast, and the honest record is usually a better teacher than any win.
None of this beats the house edge — nothing does. But discipline is the difference between a hobby that lasts and a balance that’s gone in twenty minutes.
Put these rules on autopilot.

For entertainment only. Bankroll management reduces how fast you can lose — it does not beat the house edge or guarantee profit, and you can still lose everything you wager. 18+ / 21+ where applicable. Gamble responsibly; if it stops being fun, call or text 1-800-GAMBLER.
